Military
ranges are specific areas that are set aside to train military personnel
in the proper use and handling of military munitions and explosives.
When military munitions are used as designed, some of the items are
expected to malfunction (or fail to explode).
Range
Maintenance is often referred to as Range Clearance. Range Maintenance
is the process of removing dangerous items from a military range, thus
allowing for the safe use of the range for subsequent training. The
clearance of UXO from a range may be accomplished by the destruction
in place of UXO or the collection of UXO and its destruction elsewhere
on the range.
OER's
staff has the requisite training and experience to design, schedule,
and execute an effective range maintenance program appropriate to the
site conditions and the customer's requirements.
