Services
- UXO Avoidance
Anomaly avoidance
is a combination of techniques used by UXO personnel at sites with known
or suspected OE contamination. The purpose of this service is to avoid
any potential surface UXO and any subsurface anomalies. UXO avoidance
usually occurs at mixed hazard sites when HTRW investigations must occur
prior to the conduct of an OE removal action. Intrusive investigation
of anomalies is not conducted during UXO avoidance operations.
The level of UXO
avoidance support required will vary with the level of activities occurring
on a site; multiple activities will require multiple UXO avoidance support.
A UXO Avoidance Team usually consists of at least two personnel: a UXO
Supervisor and a UXO Specialist. However, the exact crew composition
is task dependent.
OER
can provide UXO avoidance services for non-UXO personnel during the
following tasks:
- Site Visits
- Collection of
Soil Samples
- Collection of
Water Samples
- Land Survey Activities
- Utility Installation
